Youth Programs

Middlesex Community College Youth Development Center
33 Kearney Square 1st floor Lowell, MA

The Youth Development Center at Middlesex Community College, City Campus offers pre-GED and GED instruction from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 2PM to5 PM Monday through Friday for WIA eligible youth 16-21 years of age. Upon entry into the program every youth receives an academic and career assessment, which identifies strengths and weaknesses and assists in defining a likely and/or appropriate career path. Using this as a foundation Staff at MCC develop a case management plan, which will follow the youth throughout program participation. The goal of the program is to increase GED acquisition and post secondary education placements among our community's most at-risk youth. Youth are not limited to post secondary education as their sole option. Job placement and advanced technical training {i.e. Certified Nursing Assistant-CNA certificate training} and entrance into the military are also career options.
