About Member:

Maureen attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Administration. Upon graduation, she was employed as a Paralegal for the Teacher’s Credit Union in South Bend, Indiana.  From there, Maureen moved to New England, working for a short time at National Grange Mutual in Keene, New Hampshire. In 1990, Maureen began working at Lowell General Hospital as a Patient Accounts Coordinator in the Patient Accounts department. She then made a move to the Human Resources department.

Maureen is now a Human Resources Generalist.  She manages the recruitment process for clinical and non-clinical positions such as the Lab, Cardiology, Physical Therapy and Finance. She also works closely with managers, directors, and other employees, coaching and counseling on issues of employee relations, retention and employee satisfaction. Maureen’s duties also include managing and administering the hospital’s Leave of Absence process to assure compliance with FMLA regulations and supporting both managers and employees throughout the process. She is an active member of the hospital’s Employee Satisfaction Counsel, which supports employee satisfaction through such initiatives as the Cupola Award, Star Performer and Spotlight on You programs as well as employee events.

Maureen is new to the WIB, joining in February 2011, but has been a valuable partner to the WIB and Career Center of Lowell for years.  She has participated and been a supporter of several Career Center Job Fairs over the past few years. Maureen is also a member of the PATH (Pathways to Advancement and Training in Healthcare) Advisory Board.  PATH is a joint partnership between Community Teamwork, Inc. (CTI) and the Career Center of Lowell, training and placing participants into entry level healthcare occupations in the region.

Maureen is active in the community as well, volunteering for the LGH Cancer Walk and the Ann Marie House, a family-centered homeless transition shelter in Hudson, New Hampshire.

Lowell General Hospital (LGH) provides a variety of inpatient and outpatient health care services. Located in the Merrimack County, LGH primarily serves residents of the City of Lowell and the surrounding communities of Dracut, Tyngsboro, Pepperell, Westford, Chelmsford, Billerica, Tewksbury, as well as the Town of Pelham, New Hampshire.

LGH’s inpatient services include medical, surgical, pediatric, intensive care, cardiac care, obstetric, oncology and newborn (including Level 2b Special Care Nursery) services. LGH is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 217 beds.

LGH’s outpatient and ancillary services include emergency department (Level III Trauma Services), imaging/radiology (including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography), laboratory, cardiac testing and catheterization, endoscopy, surgery, rehabilitation therapies, radiation oncology and chemotherapy, and a number of other services needed to support inpatient and outpatient care.

LGH operates an outpatient center located in North Chelmsford, known as the Surgery Center at Lowell General Chelmsford; services include advanced imaging (including MRI and CT) and an ambulatory surgery center. LGH provides a cardiac and respiratory exercise/education service on the hospital campus. LGH also operates a Women’s Imaging Center in Chelmsford which provides mammography services. Upcoming Projects

LGH recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the $95 million Legacy Project. The Legacy Expansion Project plan will expand the emergency and trauma centers to nearly three times their current size, and adding more than 100 new beds and three operating rooms. The project is expected to pump $200 million into the local economy and provide as many as 400 construction jobs and about 160 news and permanent jobs at the hospital. LGH recently hosted another very successful TeamWalk for Cancer Care on May 15th. The event raised more than $854,000. This was the 12th annual TeamWalk and the most successful to date.
