Youth Success Stories

Youth Job Fair 2008 Draws 40 Employers and 600 Students!

On May 8th, 2008 the Connecting Activities Program of the Greater Lowell Workforce Investment Board in conjunction with the Career Center of Lowell and Middlesex Community College hosted the 2008 Youth Job Fair. The annual event has become a main avenue for connecting employers and youth seeking summer and part time employment throughout Greater Lowell.

The 2008 Job fair was held at Lowell High School with over 40 employers participating, making 2008 the most successful year to date. More than 600 students attended the fair completing applications and interviewing onsite. Employers were overwhelmed with the vast pool of applicants and were extremely happy with the professional attitude of the students, many of who came prepared with resumes and letters of introductions. Employers hired students at the fair and continued hiring during the months of May and June.

The Greater Lowell Workforce Investment Board expressed their appreciation to following employers who participated in the Youth Job Fair as well as Lowell High School who provided space for the event.
