Youth Programs

WIA Youth Programs

As the lead Agency on the local level for youth workforce development, it is the mission of the Greater Lowell Workforce Investment Board to support programs, which provide academic and career related skills training for low income, at-risk youth in an ongoing effort to connect them with employment which will result in life long economic self-sufficiency. By awarding performance based contracts to agencies who have expertise in addressing specific at-risk indicators in youth, the GLWIB endeavors to increase the likelihood that our youth will acquire the credentials and skills to reach this goal. The following Agencies received Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds to operate a program for the period of July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009.
