Directions to the Greater Lowell Workforce Investment Board

Mission

The Greater Lowell Workforce Investment Board (GLWIB) is a collaborative involving employers, educational institutions, labor groups, municipal and state officials, and community-based organizations that provides leadership, policy direction, and accountability for the local workforce development system.

By securing and allocating public and private funds for high quality, innovative, and collaborative workforce development programs, the GLWIB promotes a skilled and educated workforce, meets the workforce needs of employers, and supports and sustains economic development, business competitiveness, and job creation in Greater Lowell.

Who We Are

The Greater Lowell Workforce Investment Board (GLWIB) is a private non-profit organization consisting of private business representatives, educational leaders, community based organizations, local and state agencies, economic and other workforce development groups.

Directions

Take Route 3 or 495 to the Lowell Connector. Follow the Lowell Connector until it ends at a traffic light.

Take a left at the end of the Lowell Connector onto Gorham Street.

Follow Gorham Street (which will slightly wind and become Central Street) for approximately 3/4 mile until you reach the end of Central Street (downtown Lowell).

NOTE: you will see Dunkin Donuts ahead on your right as you approach the end of Central Street. It s a good idea to get into the right lane at this point.

At the end of Central Street, take a left onto Merrimack Street.

The WIB is located on the corner of Merrimack and John Street. The entrance is at 107 Merrimack St. (Map)

Validated Parking

Parking is available at the Joseph M. Downes parking Garage located one block down John Street on the right.

LRTA (Lowell Regional Transit Authority)

The Downtown Shuttle stops at the corner of Merriamck Street & John Street. The Career Center entrance is on John Street. Go to LRTA website schedule and route information.

MBTA - Commuter Rail (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority)

Take the Lowell line Commuter Rail till you reach the Lowell stop.
