John is a co-founder of Aliptia, LLC which is headquartered at 287 Appleton Street, Suite 121 in Lowell, Massachusetts. As the company’s CFO, he is responsible for all of the financial and administrative aspects of the company including accounting, finance, banking, investor relations, strategic planning and human resources. John has considerable management experience in large and small private, public, and non-profit organizations. He attended Bentley College where he received a B.S. in Accounting and went on to earn his MBA at Babson College. In addition to serving as a member of the GLWIB, John has been an elected member of the Town of Tyngsborough Finance Committee since 2003. He is also a long time member of the Nashua Panthers Youth Hockey Association where he has served as a head coach for the past eight seasons. John is also a USA Hockey Official and will be serving as the Panthers’ Referee-in-Chief for the upcoming season. John currently resides in Tyngsborough with his wife Elizabeth and their four children.
John met his business partners, Larry Conway and Bryan Cahoon, in the early 2000’s by chance. Those chance meetings have turned into lasting relationships. A few years ago, they saw the increased need for information assurance services, specifically in the Small-Medium Business arena, which typically cannot afford the professional services provided by large, global companies. The partners collaborated, developed a business plan and subsequently launched Aliptia on October 1, 2007.
John joined the GLWIB because he believes the WIB and the Career Center play an important role as a support mechanism for members of the workforce and employers in the region. As Aliptia continues to expand, the company will continue to call upon the integrated resources of these organizations.

Why the Greater Lowell area?
Being in the professional services business, Aliptia is dependent upon highly skilled professionals to design, develop and manage its business activities in the provision of the information assurance services for its clients. John and his partners, each of whom have deep roots in the City and region, chose Lowell as an ideal location for Aliptia’s headquarters due to its proximity to interstate highways, the supply of local talented human resources, access to educational institutions, including UMASS Lowell and Middlesex Community College and the City of Lowell’s progressive government.
The company is continuing to expand its client base through a new marketing campaign and enhanced business development activities. The services are ready; the next phase is getting the word out about Aliptia. Currently, Aliptia’s clients are based in New England and include both private sector companies and public sector organizations including municipalities and school departments. The company is planning to double its fourteen-person workforce by the end of the year. Aliptia will look to the Career Center of Lowell and the GLWIB for assistance in recruiting and hiring new team members.
